Teach First

Teach First participants come from a multitude of backgrounds and have different plans for the future. But all have one thing in common: they join Teach First to be part of a movement that changes lives within classrooms, schools and across society.

We offer a two-year, paid programme based on global best practice and research. Participants receive world-class teaching and leadership training leading to a fully-funded Post-Graduate Diploma in Education and Leadership (PGDE). It also includes the option to top up the PGDE to a Master’s degree that is specifically designed to further develop your effectiveness as a leader and a teacher.

Insight Programme

Our award-winning internship, the Insight Programme, is designed for penultimate-year undergraduates with a science, technology, engineering or maths (STEM) background.

This two-week, paid programme will give you glimpse of what we do and the opportunity to join a movement that is changing lives.

In your first week you’ll take part in a series of workshops designed to develop your personal and professional skills; learn more about educational inequality in the UK, and network with our recruitment team and the wider Teach First community.

Once you’ve received training in your first week, you’ll be ready to step into one of our partner schools. You’ll get to observe teachers at work, and use the skills you’ve gained to lead an inspiring lesson in your specialist STEM subject.

Insight will ready you for our Leadership Development Programme by helping you to develop skills that align with our two-year programme. On the last day of Insight we run a reduced assessment – so you could finish your two week internship with an offer for our Leadership Development Programme.
