Commercial Licensing Placement
Are you a current undergraduate or recent graduate hoping to enter a career in commercial licensing? Would you like to work for a leading global media organisation? If so, we’d love to hear from you. We are currently recruiting a Commercial Licensing Intern to join our Entry Careers Programme in London from July 2018.
This 12-month internship is part of our Entry Careers Programme, running from July 2018 to July 2019. These internships are for recent graduates or current undergraduates with a placement year in their degree, and will give the successful candidates invaluable ‘on the job’ experience in their chosen field. All our interns will start and finish their placements together, so this is your chance to learn and develop new skills alongside other professionals. As well as networking opportunities and in-depth exposure to a leading media and entertainment company, we will also provide you with training and resources for your development, to ensure that you are ‘business ready’ by the end of your internship.
The Commercial Licensing Intern will support the Director of Licensing UK & Nordics and wider EMEA team to organise and coordinate Licensee Days, Trade events, Retail activations and maximise ad hoc opportunities. The Intern will also help with day to day activities including raising purchase orders, generating creative briefs, fulfilling competition prizes, chasing royalty reports and creating presentations. You will gain experience in development of sales materials, marketing and Brand Management across all categories in the Consumer Products team.
Key duties and responsibilities include:
Licensee Support:
- Working closely with the UK Team to help coordinate Licensee days, and UK Licensing Summit
- Supporting with creation of sales materials and collation of data from multiple departments
- Attending licensee meetings and acting on requests/action points for information generated from them
- Conducting regular stores visits and issuing “updates” highlighting new products/ technologies and current trends to Director of Licensing
Internal Support
- Coordinating and update marketing plans from UK L&M, FM, Channel Marketing, Creative and Social & Digital media teams
- Attending inter-departmental meetings and record minutes to be feedback to attendees
- Supporting in organisation and execution of Brand Licensing Europe 2018
- Assisting the category managers to ensure all licensees aware of approaching forecast or events and chase where necessary
- Working closely with the product development teams to ensure all new products developed are contained in the product catalogues
Retail Support
- Working with master toy partner and other licensees to coordinate retail activities and report back to director on ongoing basis
- Working closely with CP team and managers to create bespoke sales presentations for meetings
- Competitor analysis of top performing industry licenses
Trend and Consumer expertise:
- Supporting the team by identifying current market wide collaborations across softlines and hardlines, and reporting back
Knowledge and experience required
Essential:
- Enthusiasm for licensed product and retail promotions
- Strong PowerPoint, Excel and Word skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-moving environment
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Solid organizational and planning skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task in fast moving environment
- Basic negotiation ability
- Collaborative team player
- A good communicator able to engage, influence and persuade people at all levels within organization
- Curiosity and willingness to learn
