Business Analyst Placement

Avis Budget Group has a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring Business Analyst, to come and join our IT team on an 11/ 12month student placement.

Within IT there are multiple ongoing projects to support and improve the operations for ABG. The Business Analysts are responsible for gathering and prioritising requirements for all ABG EMEA projects. You will play a pivotal role as the interface between the Business and Development, with significant opportunities for leading and influencing future product strategy.

Working within an experienced and supportive team, you will build up your skills liaising with the business and key stakeholders to capture and document what is needed to effectively implement the project and realise the business benefit. Your input will be spread across the full end to end of the Solution Development Lifecycle, from Idea to working software.

The business requirements are managed by the BA team which cover all areas of the Avis Budget business, from customer websites through to operational systems and financial systems. Each Business Analyst is assigned to a portfolio that specialises in a particular group of Business areas. This particular placement will sit within the Fleet, Finance, Revenue Management, Legal and Strategy portfolio with opportunities to get involved elsewhere when needed.

Key Responsibility:

  • Benefits analysis – discover the real benefits behind a project and steer the development towards these benefits at all times
  • Requirement Engineering – deep dive into how and why business processes run today, see the future and identify the gaps
  • Estimating - Gather & document both high and low level project estimates.
  • Innovation – look for ways to innovate whether product or process.
  • Organise and run meetings workshops, walkthroughs, and interviews, surveys & data analysis to understand and communicate requirements.
  • Liaise with the testing team to review test plans to ensure that IT solutions are effective and meet requirements.
  • Provide post-go live support when required.

You will ideally be studying a relevant University degree (Business or IT). You should have excellent communication skills, good attention to detail and a will to learn.
