Software Engineering Placement
This exciting opportunity based in the Software Engineering department at ASM Assembly Systems, is available on a 13 month work placement for undergraduate students seeking sandwich placements as part of their studies. The anticipated start date for this placement would be July 2018.
Your duties and responsibilities:
- Liaise with Team Leader/s to clarify objectives, area of responsibility and standards associated with of each specific piece of work to be undertaken.
- Complete project deliverables as required to agreed targets (time, cost, quality).
- To learn Object Oriented Analysis & Design using UML.
- To learn implementation in C# and C++ programming languages, in relation to the project in question, to: -
- Develop new code; or
- Enhance existing code; or
- De-bug existing code
- Carry out unit testing of developed code, rectifying
errors/ faults as and when identified.
Your profile:
- Qualified or currently studying for a degree in Software or an Engineering field, with a view to progressing to a Software related discipline.
- Able to describe, both written and orally, systems, machines, and their operation or ability to learn.
- Able to communicate effectively face to face and in writing with people at all levels in an organisation.
- A strong sense of order, efficiency, and completeness, and able to create systems to achieve this.
- Able to apply a logical and systematic approach when solving relatively complex problems.
- Approachable and responsive to new ideas.
- Able to organise own time and workload to deliver against tasks set by others, with a medium to short term horizon.
