Finance Placement

Working in a pro-active, forward thinking Finance team, this placement will help you to develop an understanding of the Finance function and to actively lead a small project to simplify processes.

Reporting to the Accounts Manager this person will be an important member of the Finance team. You will have the ability to have an impact on the business through key Finance projects.

There will also be opportunities to have exposure to other fundamental accounting activities.

Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Receivable
Supporting the team with Accounts processes with a focus on Accounts Payable.

• Voucher matching of supplier invoices
• Reconciliation of supplier statements
• Processing payment runs for supplier payments
• Processing and coding invoices
• Identifying and correcting or referring any errors or discrepancies
• Assisting in month end close
• Delivering reliable administrative accounting support

Expenses

• Verifying expenses have been incurred in line with company policy

Company Car / Fleet Management

• Maintaining fleet documentation and liaising with LeasePlan on company fleet cars
• Raising Capital Expenditure requests for the leasing of new cars and processing returned cars through LeasePlan

Other

• Other ad-hoc Finance tasks and admin as required

Job Requirements:

Experience/Skills/Attributes

• A desire to have a career in Finance
• Willingness and ability to have an impact on the business
• Strong IT literacy
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong numeric/analytical skills and attention to detail/diligence.
• Confidence in handling potential conflict situations
• Tact and discretion when handling confidential information
• Strong organisational and prioritisation skills
• Extremely self-motivated with the ability to work to deadlines
• Good level of Excel capability
