Global Spares & Supply Chain Projects Industrial Placement
We are looking to offer an undergraduate the opportunity to join us for 12-months, to provide support in Global Spares Planning and Supply Chain Projects. During which you will benefit from by gaining invaluable work experience which will really help to start your career.
The successful candidate will need to have good project management skills, coupled with analytical skills and the ability to produce some suitable computer modelling.
We are looking for a student to provide support in Global Spares Planning and Supply Chain Projects, which are as follows:
Forecasting and Inventory
Produce a tool/model (Excel/Access or otherwise) that will:
- Provide an analysis of parts usages and comparison with other UTAS sites and third parties.
- Measure the accuracy of our demand signal (parts required vs parts consumed)
- Use the information to determine what the correct levels of inventory should be.
- Identify slow moving stock and inventory optimisation or reduction opportunities
Cost Reduction Projects
Provide analytical and general support to the following projects :-
- Masking Project –This project looks at making masking mouldings, which will reduce labour hours for masking across XWB, Trent 1000 and BR725. The scope may be expanded to cover legacy platforms.
- Freight Project - Currently the site uses 8 freight companies and spends £1.25m on Freight - this proposal looks at consolidation of supply base and reduction of spend.
- Cost Reduction Macro plan - Will support the roll out of the 2018-2019 Cost Reduction Macro plan and will help to mitigate any potential time delays.
The position has a salary of £17,494 along with 25 days paid annual holiday.
IMPORTANT: Candidates must be able to commit to the full 12 month placement (apart from the above holidays).
