About GSK

One of the world’s leading healthcare companies, GSK discovers, develops, manufactures and distributes life-saving vaccines, prescription medicines and consumer health products such as Maxinutrition, Sensodyne, Savlon and Panadol.

The size and scope of our organisation allows our people to answer some of the biggest questions facing everyone on the planet – questions about future healthcare needs and questions about building a responsive, innovative, global business to meet them – as well as questions about their own personal and professional growth.

Global Health Programmes Industrial Placement

Global Health Programmes is responsible for managing GSK’s investment in community health, with the aim of improving access to healthcare for the world’s most underserved populations.

Working across the company with a global remit, Global Health Programmes both responds to urgent health needs resulting from humanitarian emergencies, and manages innovative programmes which develop longer term health system strengthening. Examples of the programmes managed within the team are our global partnership with Save the Children, aimed at saving a million children’s lives in developing countries, our ground-breaking partnership with Comic Relief to combat malaria in endemic countries, and our pioneering partnerships with Barclays and Vodafone aimed at improving access to health in Africa. In addition, we manage GSK’s commitment to reinvest 20% of profits to improve access to health in the world’s poorest countries and our medicine donations which include donating 1 billion Albendazole tablets per year to tackle Lymphatic Filariasis and de-worm school aged children.

As a part of this dynamic team, you will be supporting delivery of these programmes, working with a variety of NGO partners and GSK colleagues across the world. Specifically, you will contribute to the development of new and existing partnerships, experiencing all stages from proposal and approval through to launch and ongoing monitoring and evaluation of projects. You will also be working to develop internal and external communications about our work across a variety of media. There are also opportunities to attend external events with NGO partners and other stakeholders.
