Health, Safety, Environment and Security (HSES) Year in Industry Placement

The role is a fantastic opportunity to help drive environmental change across a FTSE100 energy business.

What the programme involves

At Centrica, we secure and supply the energy that keeps millions of homes and businesses running. Join us on our Year in Industry programme and you will gain a unique insight into life in a leading energy and services company.
From power stations to customer homes, you will be immersed in a range of projects that contribute to managing Centrica’s environmental impact.

The role is challenging, rewarding and incredibly diverse; working predominantly with the environment function but with opportunities to work with the other elements of the Health, Safety, Environment and Security Team. You will be collaborating with colleagues across the wider business and within the team, exposing you to a range of opportunities to expand your skill set and broaden your knowledge of the business.

You will help manage Centrica’s environmental performance reporting using our unique reporting platform. You will need to be confident in IT applications, in particularly Excel; as well as able to communicate effectively with our environmental managers and other functions. You will need to be innovative and agile to overcome hurdles and contribute towards a responsible business.

So, there will be lots to get your teeth into and it and will take a lot of hard work and initiative on your part. But in return you’ll get to develop career-boosting skills and could earn yourself a place on our HSES graduate programme if you really stand out from the crowd.

What you will need

We look for proactive, can-do students who have a genuine desire to learn about our business and industry. You must be expecting a 1st or 2:1 degree and be undertaking a year placement as part of your degree course.

Due to the popularity of this programme it may be necessary to bring forward the deadline. We would encourage you to complete and submit your application at your earliest convenience to avoid disappointment.
