Dealer Business Co-ordinator Placement

Brief description of department

Volvo Penta, a world-leading supplier of engines and complete drive systems for marine and industrial applications, you will be part of a global and diverse team of highly skilled professionals who works with passion, trust each other and embraces change to stay ahead. Our aim is to ensure our customers succeed in their endeavours.

In essence, the key project being:

Volvo Penta dealer network is a dynamic structure formed by independent companies in charge of the aftermarket business. Appointed dealers make sure that customers in the UK and Ireland receive the right level of service to achieve the expected customer satisfaction. Parts and engine sales through this channel are essential for company profitability.

Working with the Dealer Business Manager and Dealer Business Area Managers you will be required to understand the dealer business demands and establish the correct incentives and MARCOM actions to gain business, enhance brand awareness and communication.

  • To understand the Volvo Penta businesses, dealer network and customers
  • To follow up, maintain and improve current incentive plans
  • To maintain and develop social media platforms
  • Development and co-ordination of marketing material for shows and other events
  • To support and improve current communication actions towards dealers

Other duties:

In addition to the core projects, this new role will also support the wider remit of the Volvo Penta UK team, with a range of tasks to support team deliverables.

  • General assistance to other members of the team as required
  • Any other duties as assigned

Competencies, skills and knowledge required:

  • Team player
  • High level of computer literacy, including all standard Microsoft packages.
  • High knowledge of social media platforms
  • Excellent level of written & spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to present ideas in a logical & practical manner
  • Willing to travel, stay away overnight & work some weekends in supporting exhibitions
  • High energy levels; creative & enquiring
  • Willing to learn, develop & contribute quickly
  • Ability to work well under pressure & to stringent deadlines
  • Ability to handle a number of tasks, along with core project, at any one time
  • Ability to communicate at all levels in the group
  • Current driving licence

Current degree requirements

  • Studying for a marketing / communication degree or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a first or high 2:1 on their chosen studies
