About Standard Life

We’re an investment company, and we’ve been helping people manage their money since 1825.

We’re based in Edinburgh, and support around 4.5 million customers and clients across 46 countries. We administer over £307 billion of assets, with Standard Life Investments managing £253 billion. We support around 25 million more customers and clients through partnerships in India and China too.

Whether it’s by helping people save for their future, investing responsibly, or supporting the communities in which we operate, we always aim to make a positive long-term impact. To do this, we rely on talented people – around 6,500 in total – with diverse skills and perspectives, working collaboratively and playing to their strengths.

Business Management Internship

The opportunity to join us as an Intern is one that is unique, challenging and rewarding. We are currently looking for future leaders to join us in Edinburgh in 2018.

We always aim to provide excellent service for our customers – over the phone, in person or through our digital channels. Customer Operations manage the servicing strategy and standards that our business needs to be a world-class investment company.

To work here, it takes people who enjoy a challenge – solving problems, finding solutions, and identifying new opportunities.

During your ten-week internship, you’ll get hands‑on experience working with colleagues across our business. Working on live projects, your input will have real business impact. You’ll also set stretching goals for yourself to achieve.

You’ll be supported from day one, with a great network of other interns and graduates ready to help you.

Other aspects of the internship programme include:

  • An induction programme – get to know your peers
  • Shared learning with a ten-week development programme
  • A team charity challenge supporting our communities
  • Support with accommodation, if you’re planning on relocating to Edinburgh.

Programme Summary

  • Duration: Ten-week programme commencing June 2018
  • Development: Structured mini development programme to complement your on –the-job learning
  • Entry requirements: All our internships require you to be on track for a First or 2:1 degree at undergraduate level, and that you’re in your penultimate year at university
