Project Manager (Engineering) Placement

Dyson’s Programme Managers play a critical role in delivering Dyson’s future technology. Coordinating and communicating across all disciplines of design, procurement, manufacturing, commercial and marketing to ensure the effective and timely delivery of projects, against defined boundaries of time, specification and cost. On this placement you’ll gain awareness of project management across our categories from haircare to automotive, leading the way in finding the next generation of Dyson technology.  

During this placement, you’ll be working on reputation-defining projects from day one as part of a global team of Programme Managers. You’ll play a critical role in the development of new Dyson technology ensuring stage-gate deliverables are met in a timely manner. This is a broad and varied role, meaning no two days are the same. Some of your responsibilities could include anything from resource planning to coordinating and communicating project statuses to ensure a timely result.

About You

As you’ll be supporting the technical development of our technology you’ll be on track for at least a 2.1 degree in a core engineering discipline, graduating in 2020, with an active interest in business. This could be demonstrated through your modules or extra-curricular activities. You’ll need outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to negotiate with and influence a range of stakeholders across the business, from engineers to marketers.
