Science Industrial Placements

We need scientists to work in our Global Manufacturing & Supply division (GMS) programmes available are:

  • Microbiology

And scientists to work in Research & Development (R&D) in our roles such as:

  • Microbiology

Our GMS placements give you first-hand experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing laboratory. Our microbiologists and analytical chemists have the huge responsibility of ensuring that every product supplied from our sites is always of the highest quality for the person at the end of our supply chain. The pharmaceuticals materials science team understand and evaluate how materials used for drug, medical device and consumer healthcare products are transformed through manufacturing processes into the final product form. It is a broad discipline involving both chemical and physical sciences.

Our R&D placements will involve you helping to discover and develop potential new medicines whilst learning from talented experts. 

A placement with us will give you the opportunity to put your theoretical scientific knowledge into practice.  You’ll have a line manager who will support and challenge you to succeed, you’ll have set projects that require you to work in multi-discipline teams and you’ll learn how we research and develop our new medicines, or how we ensure consistency in our existing treatments and medicines.
