Category Assistant Consumer Products Placement

The purpose of the role is to support key areas within the Small Domestic Appliances department, namely Category Management, by creating decision support documentation and running internal projects.

You will be involved in the following tasks:

  • Support the Category Managers (CP) in implementing the Category Development plan with defined and measurable milestones
  • Support the management of the Product Life Cycle
  • To assist on updating all product information systems
  • Full ownership of various specified tasks/projects as requested
  • Provide any ideas/concepts for development to aid the success of product categories
  • Co-ordination of all product related activities
  • Work with CM’s to develop ranging presentations
  • Keep distribution matrix updated on a weekly basis
  • Create GFK market data report on a monthly basis
  • Maintain Tassimo and JDE cross charge file
  • Develop strong and effective 360O working relationships
  • Participation in UK and international workshops / project teams
  • Keep the business appraised of any trends as they effect the business
  • Perform all duties as reasonably required that are consistent with both training and experience
  • Adhere to all company processes, procedures, policies and standards
  • Maintain effective working relationships
  • As a team member to contribute to overall success of CP and BSH goals by maintaining regular attendance, punctuality, focus and professionalism at all times
  • Maintain tidy work area and report any health and safety issues to the Group Health and Safety Manager

Qualifications required

  • Education: Ideally majoring in Business Management, Economics or Marketing
  • Delivers against key business measures and understands the levers that maximise potential

  • Good communication / presentation skills
  • Ability to work largely unsupervised and to deadlines – time management

  • Ability to understand and interpret benefits of key technical and feature issues

Experience (type):

  • Previously had employment either paid or voluntarily.
  • Specific knowledge: Basic Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook)
