About Volkswagen Financial Services (VWFS)
We provide finance and insurance services to customers across the entire Volkswagen Group. One of the most unexpected things about VWFS is that we don’t just provide solutions for Volkswagen. We also work with a variety of amazing brands that include Audi, SEAT, SKODA, Bentley, Lamborghini, Porsche, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and MAN.
You might imagine you’ll need a finance degree and a wardrobe full of grey suits to work at VWFS. Not true. We’re smart casual in the office, informal in how we work together and we’re looking for students with diverse skills, backgrounds and ideas to join our journey.
Our Legal Placement
VWFS operates in a highly regulated environment, both globally and locally in the UK. Our Legal and Compliance team help to ensure that we manage our processes and practices in line with the highest standards, and that the business is supported with the best advice in each specialist area. Here in Legal and Compliance we value students who are resilient and self-motivated with the capability to work under their own initiative.
During your year placement you will gain experience in various Legal disciplines to really build on the knowledge that you have already learned at University. Some of the main responsibilities include:
- Support the provision of accurate and timely legal opinion/advice through the interpretation of law and regulation
- Support the drafting and review of consumer finance agreements, commercial contracts, securities and other documentation for the business
- Update on new legislation and regulations and assist in identifying the risks associated with the firm’s business activities
- Liaise with the VWFS AG Legal function based in Germany HQ
You’ll need to be studying towards a Business or Law related degree, have the ability to learn and apply new or unfamiliar knowledge quickly and have a high attention detail, whilst also working as part of a team.
