Facilities Management Placement

Core Specific Responsibilities

The successful candidate will take an active role in the day to day departmental activities e.g.

  • Handling Facilities Management Helpdesk calls and emails
  • Coordination, follow up and closing of Helpdesk tasks
  • Liaising with colleagues, visitors and contractors
  • Assisting with team budget, quotes, purchase orders and invoices
  • Dealing with ad hoc health, safety and environmental requests
  • Working with the environmental management system (ISO 14001) and internal audits
  • Monitoring and reporting environmental performance
  • Management of waste and recycling - records and removal
  • Researching suitable services and products; evaluating quotations; preparing business case documentation for management review, raising purchase orders and managing suppliers
  • Coordinating work at other sites in line with the Control of Contractors Procedure
  • Working with and developing the Facilities Management databases
  • Developing the department’s intranet pages
  • Coordinating the Intern Assessment Day

Projects

Specific project(s) will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate, taking into account educational background, skills and any relevant previous experience. The requirement is to develop solutions that:

  • Take into account the relevant legislation, trends and issues
  • Identify opportunities and threats specific to the Company and prioritise accordingly
  • Identify activities and targets that will deliver value to the Company, as well as manage risks
  • Have the support and engagement of the management team
  • Comply with the relevant Porsche AG directives and policies

The above list of core responsibilities is not exhaustive and other reasonable duties may be assigned from time to time in line with ability. The Company reserves the right to vary the role content, within reason - with consultation and agreement, in accordance with business requirements.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual who is willing to learn but also to be flexible. The successful candidate will have good communication, planning and prioritising skills with an ability to help improve procedures. Our Facilities Management Placement will give you the chance to make a real contribution to our organisation and gain invaluable work experience. Candidates should be undergraduates looking for a placement year in their 3rd year of study and ideally studying towards a Facilities/Environmental Management/ degree or a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and have strong IT Skills and be confident in spoken and written English.
