Planning and Performance Undergraduate Placement

Smart meters are doing away with unexpected bills and customers having to take their own meter readings. At E.ON, we’re all for making our customers’ lives easier. Join us for a Year in Industry placement and you’ll help schedule the Meter Technicians who are undertaking this massive nationwide challenge.

What you’ll do

This is a Year in Industry placement where you’ll play you part in ensuring the smart meter roll-out is on plan. Prioritising the workload of up to 60 Technicians, you’ll need to work at pace. This includes:

  • Taking responsibility for planning and optimising the installations our technicians do each day
  • Feeding back any compliance issues to the relevant stakeholder
  • Evaluating any trends on compliance and performance
  • Carrying out routine cause analysis.

This placement could well prepare you for a future with us. Shine and we may fast-track you to the last stage of assessment for one of our graduate schemes. Equally, with the chance to explore our business whilst you’re here, you never know what other career opportunities it could lead to.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re working towards a 2:1 degree in engineering, business, finance or any other numerical discipline.
  • You’re able to act at pace, adapt quickly and learn new systems effortlessly.
  • You can work independently, as well as take the initiative.
  • You can spot trends, analyse data and take action as needed.
  • You’re extremely organised, meticulous about detail, can juggle priorities and solve problems.
  • You have superb communication skills – both written and verbal.
