About E.ON

E.ON is one of the world’s largest power and gas companies. Across Europe, we supply energy that powers everything from streetlights to transport and helps millions of people to go about their daily lives. It’s incredibly complex work, driven by a simple vision. Everything we do is directed towards making life that little bit simpler for our customers.

Technical Safety Undergraduate Placement

Owing to the nature of our business, we take the matter of Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) at E.ON very seriously indeed. And when it comes to our compliance environments and legal frameworks, our HSSE teams make absolutely sure everything is as it should be.

What you’ll do

This is a Year in Industry placement where you’ll learn how to offer professional advice on a range of mandatory assurance activities, as well as related project and product issues too. This includes:

  • Developing and implementing effective risk control systems, procedures and standards.
  • Providing advice on technical / HSSE matters.
  • Monitoring activities of the business to ensure we meet our HSSE requirements – to our people, our service providers, all third parties and the general public.
  • Suggesting improvements wherever possible.

This placement could well prepare you for a future with us. Shine and we may fast-track you to the last stage of assessment for one of our graduate schemes. Equally, with the chance to explore our business whilst you’re here, you might find yourself securing a long-term career as a Safety Coordinator, Governance or Safety Advisor, or a Technical Safety Specialist.

What we’re looking for

  • You’re working towards a 2:1 degree in either Engineering, Business Management, Law, Risk & Governance, Compliance or Environmental Studies.
  • You have a knowledge of current policies and procedures that affect HSSE management.
  • You can demonstrate you’ve given advice within a business that’s had a successful outcome.
  • You’re a strong communicator and influencer, and able to make complex information easy-to-understand.
  • You’re able to show you can extract data to draw credible conclusions and possess good analytical skills.
