Technical Product Manager Placement

As a TPM (Technical Product Manager) for Brand Expedia group of brands, you will help analyse, co-ordinate and deliver high–volume, fault tolerant, scalable software solutions. You will work along with business partners, external teams, other TPMs, and software engineers to continuously deliver software quickly.

If you're a Computer Science student seeking a non developer role, although passionate about the software development process, this could be the career path for you. In your internship you will own technical features, establishing relationships across the business and project managing the development of technical products.

Expedia offers 1 year placement internships aligned to a UK sandwich year course:

  • Internship start date: 17th June 2018
  • Internship end date: 14th June 2019
  • Recruiting commences: November - December 2017
  • Interviews: December - February 2018

Your daily itinerary:

  • Use and adapt Agile software development framework such as Scrum and Lean to meet business goals
  • Be part of a self-managed team culture that is productive, accountable and continuously improving
  • Check off engineering standard gates during delivery, manage quality of software and bug resolution
  • Work with partner teams across the organisation to lead cross-team initiatives

What you'll learn:

  • Develop execution plans for projects, features and increments, adapting to changes to business priorities and needs
  • Assist to build and maintain an overall team backlog and roadmap
  • Translate business decisions/requirements into potential technical solutions
  • Collate feedback from business to feed into the development cycle
  • Track and report progress status metrics to management and partners

What we're looking for in you:

  • Appreciation of software development cycles and processes such as Agile
  • Some experience in execution of projects (analysis, design, implementation and acceptance)
  • Capability in decision-making, negotiation and resilience
  • Good analytical, problem solving and unblocking the way forward
  • Strong written and oral interpersonal skills
  • Ability to simultaneously work on multiple work streams at one time
  • Understanding of crafting meaningful reporting
  • Great teammate
