Analytics Placement

Expedia offers 1 year placement internships aligned to a UK sandwich year course.

Product Analytics: Hotels.com

Are you a motivated, talented student looking to join our successful Product Analytics Team, handling 87 sites in 36 languages? You will directly own live-site experiments (AB/Multivariate) from test planning to analysis, recommendations and action. This includes identifying and specifying any necessary reporting improvements for effective visitor behaviour analysis, make best use of resources and technologies, and deliver hundreds of millions of dollars of business value. In addition you will take an analytical approach to own all deployment activities of our test platform to help drive our ever growing experimentation program.

Throughout your placement, you will develop experience with web analytics tools (Adobe Analytics, Google Analytics etc.) and Experience with online experimentation via proprietary or off-the-shelf products (e.g. SiteSpect, Test&Target, Optimizely, Maxymizer etc.)

A sharp focus on getting results and insights using the most practical and fastest approach will see you excel in your placement.

What we're looking for in you:

  • Pursuing a degree in a quantitative discipline such as Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Economics or Operations Research
  • Shown analytical and conceptual thinking skillset through your studies
  • Strong business sense to combine with analytics to help drive recommendations
  • Excellent MS Excel skills required
  • Working knowledge of SQL and/ or relational databases is a plus; on-the-job training will be provided - so your quick ability to learn will go far!
  • Ability to perform in a high-pressure, dynamic environment and be comfortable with a high level of ambiguity
  • Strong attention to detail, high energy, and a can-do, team focused attitude.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
