Graphic Design Industrial Placement

As a Graphic Design Student Placement in the Medical Devices Marketing Team you could find yourself working on the design of in-house brochures, PowerPoint/ Keynote template design, video graphics, e-marketing, digital communications, adverts or the general upkeep of the branded materials.

The Graphic Design Student Placements will be at the core of many projects with stakeholders from across the business functions from Business Analysts through to Product Managers.

This is a great opportunity for those who want to grow their portfolio with projects from one of the highest valued companies in the world.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Assisting in the production of printed product catalogues/ brochures/ advertisements
  • Design of web graphics and images for marketing emails
  • Assisting in design and development of email templates and promotional leaflets
  • Product photography/ videography and image library management & requests
  • PowerPoint/ Keynote template design
  • Act as a brand ambassador for Medical Devices projects
  • Logo origination
  • To support the Franchise Marketing Manager on strategic business projects as and when required
  • Exhibition coordination – Stand design, poster & banner creation, occasional help setting up

Requirements of the role:

  • 2 years of degree level study completed
  • A minimum of 2:1 achieved in first year of study
  • Creative, Design or Graphics based degree

Key skills and competencies:

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Passion for working in the medical industry
  • Knowledge and experience in using: InDesign CC, Illustrator CC, Photoshop CC
  • An understanding of typography, layout and art direction
  • Strong knowledge of leading design software packages
  • A creative flair and passion for design and an exceptional eye for detail
  • Some creative industry experience is beneficial
  • Adaptable and able to work with a wide range of different personalities
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral
  • Able to prioritise and manage own workload autonomously
