HR Project Support Co-ordinator

Brief description of department

Volvo Group UK’s HR department support all areas of the Volvo Group including but not limited to Volvo and Renault Trucks. Volvo Financial Service, Group IT, The HR Director with a team of HR Business Partners, Compensation and Benefits and Health and Safety support the head office functions to deliver the HR Strategy. The team work closely with the HR Services team, which is based in Warwick, who provide payroll and administration support for approx. 2500 employees.

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking individual to join the HR team based at Warwick. You will take full ownership of the 2019/2020 intern intake which involves planning, undertaking recruitment activities and liaising with Managers. There will also be a number of other smaller projects and day to day support required. Within this role there is a real opportunity to bring your own ideas and a new perspective to the team.

Additionally, you will work within the HR Services team for 1 day per week to undertake fundamental HR practices and processes. This will include recruitment administration, producing contracts, processing new starters and leavers, dealing with pay and other benefits queries. You will be liaising with managers and employees both within Warwick head office and across the Dealer network.

Current degree requirements

  • Studying for a HR degree or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a First or High 2:1 on their chosen studies

Competencies, skills and knowledge required

  • Have a keen interest in HR
  • High level of computer literacy, including all standard Microsoft packages
  • Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels of the Group
  • Comfortable working with confidential information where integrity is key
  • Capable of prioritising, planning and organising work
  • Team player
  • Excellent level of written and spoken English
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to present ideas in a logical & practical manner
  • High energy levels and an inquisitive mind-set
