About Panasonic

To work at Panasonic is to work at a thriving blue-chip company, having real corporate responsibility, where you will be treated as a vital member of the team. Rare opportunities will be given to you, giving you real insight into the rush of the business world. Panasonics culture is one where contribution and improvement ideas that would benefit the company are always welcomed.

Panasonic is a multinational fast-moving electronics company with thousands of employees worldwide that focuses on improving the everyday lives of customers through our products. Founded nearly 100 years ago, we are always moving forward to reflect society’s demands and so need forward thinking individuals that will bring personality and positivity to the roles advertised. With many different departments within the company, Panasonic can offer you many different opportunities to learn a diverse range of knowledge and skills not only in one given department or area, from VIERA TVs, Lumix Cameras and Home Appliances, to our Eco Solutions team.

Social Media, Communities and CRM Marketing Assistant

Our mission is twofold.

1. To run the day-to-day operations for Panasonic UK on all our web platforms for all our products and the Panasonic brand as a whole

2. To create ideas, explore new opportunities and drive innovation in marketing, with a focus on digital, for the whole consumer products division.

We’re a small team with big targets and an even bigger ambition. You’ll be an integral part of the team and will have the freedom to think of new ideas, improve existing platforms and marketing activities, be creative and run projects end to end.

It’s your chance to make a difference.

That’s great! I’m interested. Tell me more!

We work across all our products. So, you’ll be working on everything from cameras to TVs to microwaves to wireless speakers to beauty care products. If you like variety, you’ve come to the right place.

You’ll be exposed to all aspects of digital marketing from the website, to social media, to newsletters, to managing communities, to working with retailers and direct e-commerce.

And as we’re part of a wider Brand Communications team, you’ll also be working on broader brand based activities and projects with other disciplines like PR, advertising and events.

Ok. So what are my primary job responsibilities?

You’ll mainly be responsible for 6 aspects:

1. Social Media:

We have 10 social media accounts across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Flickr and Vimeo for the main Panasonic brand along with dedicated channels for cameras, beauty products and kitchen appliances . You will be responsible for the day-to-day running of these platforms.

Working with internal teams both locally and internationally, and with external partners and agencies, you will be creating content for these channels to reflect the marketing message for various products, sponsorships, partnerships and the whole Panasonic brand in general.

You’ll have the opportunity to work LIVE from our events primarily in the UK and a few outside to bring the stories to the audience.

2. Communities:

We have two communities. Lumix G Experience (www.lumixgexperience.co.uk) for our cameras and Ideas Kitchen (theideaskitchen.co.uk) for our home baking and cooking products.

You will be responsible for the regular updates, maintenance and running of these websites including the strategy, content and execution. There will be internal and external stakeholders who you will work with to achieve targets.

3. CRM:

Your responsibilities will include working with the CRM manager to create monthly newsletters to be sent to the Panasonic database. You’ll be using our newsletters and events to have regular communication with our customers, helping us talk to them about the most relevant things and driving engagement. This will tie in closely with your work on the communities and social media.

4. LUMIX Ambassador Programme:

For our cameras in the LUMIX range, we work with a number of talented, established and up-coming photographers to create content to be used across social media, website, PR and other marketing and advertising purposes.

You will be playing a key role in managing the relationship with these Ambassadors and recruiting new ones.

5. Leading Digital Activations:

You will have the opportunity to take the lead on the digital side of various business wide activations like the partnerships and sponsorships we have. Your role will be to ensure that you are on top of all requirements from a digital side, helping other areas of business where possible and managing activities end-to-end.

6. Digital Team Activities:

Beyond this you will be expected to contribute to all other digital marketing initiatives. We are a creative team and we want ideas! Show us you can do it, and you will get the opportunity to work on it or lead it.

So, what are we looking for?

  • You need to love words. We’re looking for a storyteller. Someone who can look at everything as a journalist and think of angles that will bring the stories to life. Once you identify the angles you should be able to communicate it in simple, concise and interesting words that work across different media.
  • With social media, communities and CRM we need lots of new ideas. Creativity is a key asset in this role.
  • Close attention to detail to ensure that while the ideas are great creatively, they also come across in execution.
  • We’re looking for someone who can take initiative and find solutions. You’ll have lots of responsibilities and we’re a small team. You’ll have all the support you need, so the onus is on you to make the best use of it.
  • You’ll be working with a lot of different people at different levels both internally and at our agencies and partners. You’ll need strong communications skills to help you push ideas through.
  • And to manage all your responsibilities, we’re looking for you to be good at managing your time.
  • Ability to analyse activities to see what worked, what didn’t and what we can improve. You don’t need to be an Excel whizz, as long as you are comfortable with numbers and critical analysis.

Company Benefits:

  • Discounted Panasonic products
  • Free parking on site
  • 25 days holiday
