At our European Technical Centre in Hazelwood near Derby, the Mechanical Testing team conduct proof of performance testing of fluid and mechanical systems in our state of the art test facility and out in the field and we have a number of fantastic opportunities for you to join our team.

Engineering Placements

Mechanical Testing: Fired Test Engineer
As a fired/non-fired test engineer, your role will involve testing of engine and fuels additives testing in engines. You will be working alongside engineering experts and professionals performing and designing engine tests, analysing data and presenting the results. Whilst working closely with both our internal and external customers, and original equipment manufacturers alike.

Mechanical Testing: Field Test Engineer
Working with experienced engineers, your role will include providing data acquisition and analysis on a wide variety of innovative projects ranging from passenger car to heavy duty, off highway and marine applications. You will play an important part in your team working on areas including the installation of equipment, processing and analysing data collected from field trials and presenting findings to both internal and external customers as well as working with field test groups across the globe.

Mechanical Testing: Mechanical Support Engineer
Your role will involve helping to support the testing departments by using CAD and manufacturing principles in order to design and develop new parts and test rigs. Not only will you be working alongside experienced, talented engineers in Mechanical Testing, you will also offer a huge breadth of support to other departments to deliver excellence.

Applied Sciences: Tribology Engineer
Tribology is the friction and wear between two working components and at Lubrizol we create lubricants to reduce the negative impact of this, therefore your time will be split between a lab environment and the mechanical testing department.
You will be designing, developing and performing tests on a variety of wear and friction testing equipment to simulate engines and transmissions. This may include a combination of systems development, test software development, implementation of new tests, performing analysis, and presenting on conclusions from these tests.
