About GSK

One of the world’s leading healthcare companies, GSK discovers, develops, manufactures and distributes life-saving vaccines, prescription medicines and consumer health products such as Maxinutrition, Sensodyne, Salvon and Panadol.

The size and scope of our organisation allows our people to answer some of the biggest questions facing everyone on the planet – questions about future healthcare needs and questions about building a responsive, innovative, global business to meet them – as well as questions about their own personal and professional growth.

Digital Communications Industrial Placement

Communications at GSK is all about providing relevant, up-to-minute information to support our strategic priorities in the global marketplace. This means engaging and inspiring employees and managing our company image and reputation by developing and delivering consistent messages to patients and doctors, shareholders, the media and the general public.

The digital communications team within Corporate Communications manages GSK's corporate digital channels including GSK.com, Twitter, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn and Google+.

The Digital Communications IP role offers the successful candidate an opportunity to help to drive GSK's digital engagement around the world. Some of the key activities that the student would get involved in are:

  • Helping to develop, maintain and improve the company's external corporate websites and social media channels
  • Providing expertise and insight into digital communications and technologies
  • Liaising with GSK's digital communications contacts around the world

What’s in it for me?

A placement is a great chance to apply the skills you have learned at university in a ‘live’ role and learn new ones. The work will bring you into contact with people across the business, external organisations and the media, so you’ll be constantly developing your interpersonal skills. You’ll also build your organisational and problem-solving abilities.
