Polyurethanes Industrial Placement

This twelve month industrial placement within the Technical Department is designed for students who wish to enhance their work experience in the safe environment commensurate with that expected of a multinational chemical Company.

  • You will assist technical advisors to develop and test new polyurethane foam systems, and once trained, you will have ample opportunity to work independently and competently on your own projects.
  • This will include conducting detailed assessment of customer samples to verify product quality, taking detailed notes, and communicating results to colleagues as well as customers.
  • You will also maintain work areas / ensure machinery is kept in a safe condition in line with company procedures.
  • Beyond this, you will ensure via a professional approach that the company image and performance is maintained within its markets.

What we expect

  • Currently studying for a degree in Polymer/Material science, you are a highly motivated individual with a desire to learn.
  • Beyond this, you have experience in handling chemicals, and must be able to work in an organised manner on a variety of tasks.
  • You also enjoy new challenges, and have a passion for achieving success.
  • Using your excellent communication and interpersonal skills you work well in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel is desirable.
