Supply Chain Management Summer Internship Programme

Take on mission-critical challenges. Help to deliver the very latest initiatives. Pioneer ground-breaking innovations. That’s the opportunity open to you when you join our Supply Chain Management Summer Internship Programme. A summer internship is a great way to get an insight into Rolls-Royce, and what it takes to do well here. You’ll discover how we deliver our customers’ engines and spare parts on time and at a minimal cost. It’s complex work. And it takes an ever-evolving chain of people, processes and suppliers across the globe to make it happen – all working together seamlessly and intelligently.

The programme

Learning from the best in our business, you’ll take on real-life assignments and gain invaluable experience – all of which could lead to you being offered a place on our graduate programme. Over the course of 10 weeks, you’ll be given practical insights into life here by undertaking placements in areas like Global Physical Logistics, Supply Chain Design or Inventory. You’ll be encouraged to really stretch yourself and ask questions of every team you work with. We have a wealth of expertise here and, because your development will be in your hands, it will be down to you to delve into it.

What you’ll do

Over your 10-week summer internship, you’ll be contributing to real projects. You could be getting to grips with how we prepare the supply chain for a new engine entering production. It might be that you’re visiting our storage facilities to understand how our inventory is stored, and thinking about how it can be better managed. You’ll also attend key meetings, work with teams from different parts of the engineering lifecycle, and grow an understanding of the financial side of things as you reassign inventory. You might even create ‘how-to’ guides and data summaries for internal and external customers. One thing is certain: you’ll learn and grow every day.

What you’ll need

We’re looking for analytical graduates who are detail-focused, data-orientated and logical in their approach. Because you’ll need to share your ideas about how we can do things even better, it’s important that you have strong communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations. You should also be on course to achieve at least a 2:1 degree, or a comparable qualification. Flexibility is important too, as you could be based at any of our sites. And because you’ll be ambitious and driven, you’ll be excited that this internship could lead to a place on our graduate programme.

What you’ll get

  • £17.850 pa (pro rata)
  • Learn from experts
  • The chance to join our graduate programme if you perform well
  • Leisure facilities, clubs, societies and social activities
