Engineering Summer Internship Programme
You love nothing more than tackling complex problems. Innovating. Thinking about how things could work better. Wondering ‘What if?’; asking ‘Why not?’ And that’s exactly the kind of mindset we look for in our engineering interns. This summer internship will give you exposure to some of the world’s toughest challenges – and the chance to help solve them. You’ll be part of a global team of 16,500 engineers: a team that’s as talented as it is diverse. All of them use their outstanding technical knowledge, determination and team working skills to create solutions they can be truly proud of. Working with them, you’ll never find yourself taking a back seat. You’ll be undertaking real work with real outcomes.
The programme
On this 10-week programme, you’ll gain practical experience on real-life assignments that will put your theoretical knowledge to the test. Along the way, you’ll work alongside some true experts and be taught valuable skills. You might get a chance to join our graduate programme too – a fantastic start to a career with one of the world’s most prestigious companies.
If you are a student member of an institute, experience gained on your internship can be used to credit some of your learning towards your graduate programme and chartership status, should you choose to join.
What you’ll do
As an intern, you’ll not only learn from skilled professionals, all of your projects will be in support of a real business need, with a direct link to our products and customers. It makes for a brilliant opportunity to share your ideas and really make a difference. Not only will you receive on the job training, you’ll also get exposure to project management and you’ll develop a host of transferable skills. Your day-to-day tasks will vary and you’ll receive support from a number of different people within the business, all of whom will be committed to helping you to deliver your best.
What you’ll need
We want to see great communication skills developed through well-rounded life experience – academically, socially and in any previous work situations. Technical abilities are a must, so you’ll need to be on track to achieve at least a 2:1 bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maths or a relevant Physical Science, or equivalent qualification. Flexibility is important too, as you could be based at any of our sites.
