HR Student Placement

We have an exciting future ahead, with our focus on continuing to build on the success of our service offering whilst also working to drive efficiency throughout all of the processes in our business, and that’s where you come in.
 
With over 9,000 colleagues within the UK, our HR function is focused around providing critical and valuable guidance and support through recruitment, employee relations, learning and development and HR services. We are looking for two enthusiastic and forward thinking placement students to join our team to spend six months in our HR team and a further six months within our Learning and Talent team. This is a great opportunity to experience different areas of HR in a global organisation.
 
Working within the HR team, you will assist and support the team on any employee relation issues or case work that may arise which will include but not be limited to; disciplinaries, grievances, long term sick and dismissals. You will be responsible for ensuring all HR systems are up to date with all necessary information relating to case work and aid the team in the reporting of this data.
 
Moving into the Learning and Talent team, you will get the opportunity to work alongside our fast paced Resourcing team, helping to attract and recruit the top talent to our organisation. You will also have the opportunity to spend time in our busy training team, who ensure that our employees have the necessary skills to do their jobs to the best of their ability. Outside of your day to day duties, you will take an active role in various HR projects to ensure that we are working as effectively and efficiently as possible.

What you’ll need

• To be studying for a degree with Human Resources that offers a placement year opportunity
• Hold a full EU driving licence
• To be able to demonstrate strong communication skills – both written and verbal
• Have the ability to work using own initiative at times
• The ability to work effectively with different stakeholder groups
• Be able to manage time efficiently by juggling and prioritising tasks
• The ability to take an idea or a task and think creatively about it
