Environment, Health and Safety Placement

Are you a top-student looking to kick-start your career in Environment, Healtha and Safety (EHS) at a value-driven, world-leading engineering company? If successful you will be working at Siemens £160 million wind turbine production and installation facilities based at Alexandra Dock in Hull. It’s a great way to be involved in the renewable industry and see how it works first hand.

You will get the opportunity to share your ideas and take initiatives in order to affect our business and have a lot of fun! You will work in our Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) team for up to twelve months.

As part of the local EHS team and in cooperation with local production management and working environment organization you will be supporting with:

  • Facilitating and conducting risk assessments.
  • Evaluating and supporting EHS related questions arising.
  • Reviewing and approving corrective actions and ensure they are implemented.
  • Communicating lessons learned from investigations.
  • Lead investigation on accident and investigations.
  • Develop training material.
  • Training of employees.
  • Ensure all operations are conducted in compliance with legislation.

The Candidate

We are looking ideally for students who are currenty studying and looking to complete a placement year as part of their degree who have:

  • An entrepreneurial mind-set, taking initiative and ownership of activities
  • Driven and result oriented personalities, with a genuine interest in renewables
  • Team players with excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn your analysis into actions that you can implement in your team.
  • Experience from either work or studies
