IT Placement

Through leveraging innovative and effective technology solutions, Flowserve’s IT organization supports the company operations and helps the company achieve success in the marketplace. Flowserve is offering a one year IT placement beginning in August 2017.

The successful candidates will be working as part of a team of analysts, developers and managers to implement IT solutions for Flowserve. Responsibilities are varied and may include:

• Define business requirements and process flows
• Conduct research, gather, organize and analyze data
• Organize, plan and create deliverables

The program will culminate with a presentation to senior leadership summarizing the project and assignment completed, along with recommendations for future courses of action. In addition, the program will provide exposure and networking opportunities with the senior leadership of the organization. It will also provide opportunities to learn about Flowserve and network with other associates globally.

We are looking for bright, enthusiastic and motivated undergraduates who are studying for an IT based degree and have the following skills:

• A solid technical background and experience with technology
• A methodical approach with good organizational skills
• Excellent analytical skills to systematically break complex problems
• Ability to work and adapt to a changing environment
• Excellent oral and written communication and listening skills
• A blend of curiosity, creativity, character, persistence, commitment and passion

Applicants should be on track to achieving a 2:1 degree and have 300 UCAS points.

Throughout your internship you will be mentored to help improve your skill set and receive training on any additional skills that may be required to accomplish your projects.

Example Project Areas:

The position offers students an opportunity to gain high level exposure and to shape their career path through working on exciting global projects in one or more of the following areas:

Shared Technical Services: Provides cost-effective, reliable and secure worldwide infrastructure including networks, telephony, e-mail, and messaging and collaboration tools.

End User Services: Provides services to support productivity for the end users. Functions include Help Desk and PC sourcing and deployment.

IT Operations: The IT ops team maintains our two Global Datacenters located in Gilbert, Arizona and London. Both datacenters support our worldwide operations.

The timing of specific projects and activities will drive final assignments for the program.

Flowserve offers a salary of £19,000 per annum. The working week is 37½ hours. Benefits include 25 days’ holiday, on site canteen, pension scheme, life assurance cover, and Health Cash plan to help with every day health care costs.
