This role is based in Hammersmith West London, in our fabulous brand new office space.

Research Placement

The role of the Research intern is to support and work within the Research & Insight team, running and analysing data on channels and programme performance across all our channel brands and territories, including History, Crime & Investigation, Lifetime and H2

The Research team is committed to sourcing and imparting the relevant, objective and compelling information on our channels performance’s, measured against our nearest competitors and the TV market as a whole. To provide accurate and actionable insight of the highest standard that allows the business to make timely decisions that will drive the company forward by improving our channels performance and our brand perception in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working with international ratings data, providing regular feedback on channel and programme performance to all departments, including Programming, Marketing and PR, Advertising Sales, Commercial and Programme Acquisitions to provide them with regular reports (Weekly and Monthly) and answering ad hoc requests on specific programmes and channels
  • Maintain and organise channels databases, ensuring all programme information is up to date and accurate
  • Using Video on Demand data from multiple sources, creating reports to inform the business of the success / usage of VOD of programming content
  • Keep up to date with competitor activity and schedules
  • Assist Compliance department by providing data to ensure channels are OFCOM compliant
  • Assisting with ad hoc research projects when necessary
  • Assisting Research Director with raising purchase orders, logging and tracking invoices and department budget

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Must be studying a sandwich course at degree level
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK
  • Have a good understanding of working with data / numbers
  • Good attention to detail
  • Comfortable working with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good writing skill
  • Involvement working on a research project that involved working with data sets, drawing conclusions and writing up and presenting findings
