Frontier was founded in 1989 when, in association with the WWF, we helped set up a protected marine research park on a remote island in Tanzania. Since then, Frontier has grown to be the premier provider of gap year, volunteering, internships and ethical travel. Ethical Adventure Trails – Combine Volunteering and Adventure Travel
Trekking & Eco-trails projects are ideal for anyone wanting to combine backpacking and hiking with a volunteering experience, and Frontier has many projects that will challenge and lead you to discovering something new about the world, and yourself. Eco-trails provide a chance to set yourself a challenge and have a positive impact working with a sustainable development and conservation project or with underprivileged communities. Joining likeminded volunteers and exploring remote locations, modern cities, and ancient ruins, the trekking & Eco-trail projects combine adventure travel and making a valuable contribution to the communities and locations en route.
The Frontier South East Asia Ethical Adventure trail takes in the best of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Travelling with a group of like-minded adventurers and a professional guide, you will visit the most amazing locations, including Angkor Wat and Halong Bay, and take part in a teaching or beach conservation placement.
On the Central America Ethical Adventure trail, you will visit world-famous Mayan ruins, go horse trekking, volcano boarding and scuba diving, and take part in a teaching placement as well as a rainforest conservation project.
