As a Co- Manufacturing intern at pladis UK & IRE, you will be part of the core element of the business strategy that is an essential requirement to support the wider pladis business. The team works to provide manufacturing solutions to support NPD activities, and proactively finds new product capabilities and technologies which are presented to the business.

Are you currently studying at university and looking for an exciting role that will allow you to learn and develop within a Procurement internship?

We are a fast paced organisation, with a strong international footprint and our sights are firmly set on growth. As a Co-Packing intern at pladis UK & IRE,you will be part of the core element of the business strategy that is an essential requirement to support the wider pladis business. The team works to provide manufacturing solutions to support NPD activities, and proactively finds new product capabilities and technologies which are presented to the business.

Overview of accountabilities and deliverables

You will be a member of a small team, reporting to co-manufacturing category manager. As part of your role you will be required to interface at all business levels, working closely with co-manufacturing team and wider business.

Key outputs of achievement would include:

  • To take responsibility for the day to day co-packing activities and supporting in the implementation of co-packing strategy.
  • To manage and maintain Master Data e.g. Vendor, Material
  • To escalate quickly and resolve effectively any supplier issues
  • To assist and support in implementation of supplier changes, e.g. phase in phase out
  • To assist and support in implementation of Contract control and ensure compliance
  • To assist in support of timely approvals of AJD's and contracts
  • To analyze and effectively escalate or resolve Purchasing Price Variance where appropriate
  • For co-packaging requests ensure costing data/evaluations are accurately provided in line with marketing/NPD/supply chain demands
  • To provide, with agreement of manager any specific Admin/report support to wider procurement base
  • To support Cost Base Reduction idea generation and influence local requirements to be reflected in the key sourcing strategies in the Co-Man / Co-Pack area.
  • To take responsibility for a delegated buying portfolio as agreed with the Co-Manufacturing Team.

Key Challenges:

  • To be able to work under pressure and maintain a professional and responsive service to the Business Units and European Procurement Team
  • To manage colleagues business critical workload during holiday periods for continuity of supply

Other key outputs, will include:-

  • Vendor master maintenance: Create, validate and update data with reference to commercial info given.
  • Assisting with compilation of QF's, Risks and Ops documents
  • Resolves cost and payment issues by liasing with individual buyer and finance.
  • Compiles specific agreed reports e.g. budget data, to support of the team
  • Maintains data on supplier T&C's, contracts, and issue history.
  • Creation of eRFP builds with associated activity.
  • Challenging key business processes and recommending improvements, with a focus on reducing low added value administrative activities.

Continuous Improvement

  • To highlight any opportunity which drives to a continuous improvement and therefore to value-added activities for the company.
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean environment and for keeping his/her workplace in order.
  • Responsible for the quality of his/her work.

  • You must have the Right to live and Work in the UK.
  • You must have a strong academic background, with a minimum of a 2:1 (60% or international equivalent) at degree level (achieved or expected), and a minimum 300 UCAS points.
