Communications Executive – Student Placement

BROAD PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • To work under the guidance of the Communications Lead to develop and deliver on communications projects.
  • To support delivery of communication tactics led by the Communications Lead, including developing communication materials and ensuring that these are reviewed and approved in a timely manner.
  • To produce Napp internal communications, including the monthly e-zine and maintaining and developing content for the Napp intranet.
  • To review daily media monitoring reports and produce weekly environment reports for the business.
  • To ensure that content on the Napp corporate website is regularly refreshed.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Primary responsibilities:

  • Work under the guidance of the Communications Lead to develop and deliver on communications projects.
  • Support the Communications Lead in developing and delivering communications materials for other tactics to gain experience in a variety of communications and PR activities.
  • Liaise with external agencies and internal stakeholders to manage the internal review and approval process for communications materials.
  • Review daily media monitoring, highlight stories that require an immediate response, and produce weekly monitoring reports.
  • Maintain the media monitoring database, e.g. by deleting irrelevant content.
  • Work with contacts across the business and others in the Communications team to successfully deliver on internal communications.
  • Ensure that the Napp corporate website is kept up-to-date with fresh content on a regular basis, particularly the news page.

Secondary responsibilities:

  • Attend appropriate training and agency briefing meetings to gain an understanding of PR, and the role and management of communications in the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Assist the Communications Lead in evaluating communications projects, e.g. by reporting the level of media coverage achieved when Napp undertakes a proactive campaign.
