Technical Consultant Internships

We are now recruiting bright design and engineering students for both our 12-month placement and summer internships, starting in 2017. All the placements on offer start with two weeks of intensive training on a combination of Autodesk’s computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing software to give you an initial insight into manufacturing.

Following the training courses; 12-month placement students will begin a series of ten-week rotations around the different departments at our Birmingham site including; Professional Services Consultancy, International Engineering Support, Metrology, Artistic Solutions and Project Engineering. Summer placement students will fulfil their tenure in one of these departments. You will be given every opportunity to use your knowledge and enthusiasm on projects supporting organisations around the world involved in the design, manufacture and quality control of products in a huge range of sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical, footwear and consumer goods.

As your knowledge and expertise grow by working alongside experienced Autodesk engineers, you will be expected to demonstrate to our customers and prospects on how they can reduce design & manufacturing cycle times whilst improving product quality and reducing costs. This will be done by showcasing new and existing functionality through technical presentations. You will collaborate with the development teams to ensure the continued development of innovative functionality according to customer and in-house strategic specifications. You will participate in a range of turn-key or bespoke projects.

About you

The ideal candidate will have: a real enthusiasm for explaining, demonstrating and communicating cutting-edge applications and show confidence in front of prospects and customers; understand engineering principles and possess manufacturing knowledge to understand the use for CADCAM products; and the ability to manage themselves and to work in either a team or individual environment.
