About E.ON

E.ON provides electricity and gas to millions of customers across the UK. Our vision is a simple one: we want to be the trusted energy partner for our customers. We back technologies like Combined Heat & Power (CHP) that recycle heat and lower bills. With 23 wind farms and the country’s largest biomass power plant, we’re major investors in renewable and alternative energy. And we won Large Supplier of the Year in 2014 and came top for Overall Customer Satisfaction in 2012 and 2013 at the uSwitch Energy Awards. It’s a record we’re proud of and with your help, one we’ll maintain.

Community Energy Placement

Community Energy is a fast growing business delivering low carbon district heating solutions across the UK.

What you’ll do

The Commissioning Engineer will work within the Community Energy Delivery Commissioning Team. You’ll be responsible for assisting the project managers to create, review and implement a detailed commissioning plan that covers the major items of equipment on site, such as:

  • Energy Centres (i.e. Biomass Boilers, CHP Engines and Associated Pipework)
  • Underground Heat Network
  • Heat Interface Units (based in customer homes)

This will involve travelling to each of the district heating sites and working with key stakeholders, such as the project delivery managers and design team to assess the sites against current E.ON Commissioning standards.

What we’re looking for

When you apply, you’ll be someone who’s already working towards getting their engineering degree, with a variety of personal skills including planning, communication, organisational, project management and problem solving. You’ll be bringing your drive, determination and resilience to any challenge that comes your way. In addition to that, you’ll have strong collaborative values, with the willingness to learn and travel across sites (UK). It’s important that you’re competent within MS Word, Excel and Power Point.

The desirable skills or experience we look for: Electrical, Mechanical or Control and Instrumentation plant experience, projects or modules related to district heating.
