Internships at our Research, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Sustaining (REMS) centers present you with real industry problems to solve. 3 month summer placements are available. We have 9 technology centres in the UK and each one is involved in research or engineering, manufacturing and sustaining products for different parts of the business.

Some examples of our products include tools for drilling the world’s deepest wells, software to simulate reservoir behaviour and equipment for controlling the flow of hydrocarbons from the reservoir up to the surface. Your projects will differ depending on the centre in which you are based but, wherever you are, you will work in a multi-disciplinary team and our $1 billion annual R&D budget ensures you will have access to fantastic equipment and facilities in which to work.

About our Roles

We have lots of different types of placements so whether it is lab-work, coding, hands-on testing, problem solving, designing or a mixture of all these that gets you up in the morning; we will probably have something for you!

All our placements offer you responsibility from day one. In return you will get plenty of support from your manager and team members to ensure your time with us is both enjoyable and hugely rewarding. Internships are a fantastic way of getting to know Schlumberger and what we do. Many of our summer internships students go on to join one of our graduate training programs.

Requirements

To qualify, you must have completed a minimum of 3 years of an undergraduate degree at the start of the placement and be in a master's or PhD program in one of the following engineering/scientific disciplines: Aeronautical, Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical, Mechatronic or Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science, Geophysics, Mathematics or Physics.
