Marketing Assistant

As a placement student within the marketing team you will be expected to provide support to all areas of the department. This includes, but is not limited to, the development of copy for venues and golf courses, the production of key marketing reports, brand building, reporting and also general communication both internally and externally. You will also be expected to play an integral role in the company’s search engine optimisation (SEO) project and ensure all website copy meets SEO standards.

You will be expected to think on your feet and also give thought to long term planning. Good organisational skills, time management and the ability to multi-task are crucial. A creative streak is also essential to continue to provide new ideas and activity for future marketing campaigns.

This role will involve close contact with colleagues, suppliers / 3rd parties and on occasions directly with customers and, as such, you must emulate the values of the company. The role will also require you to undertake certain administrative duties to ensure that the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

An interest in golf is desired but not a pre-requisite.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collating of copy, images and USP’s of properties and courses
  • Update all operational information including driving directions, contact details check in procedures
  • Assist with ensuring the quality and integrity of the content published (online/offline) is accurate
  • Review client usability of websites – provide suggestions to Marketing Department as needed in structured format (i.e. email/written)
  • Awareness of company schedule and time line of key projects in reference to online launches and timely delivery of requested content for print content material
  • Assist with the management and loading of new venue template including pricing, images, copy etc.
  • Assist with the SEO project, including:
    • Researching keywords based on user demand
    • Rewriting copy to ensure that it is SEO compliant
  • Assist with all IT releases and with website testing to ensure that new website functionality is correct
  • Data entry – the input of customer information into the system, where manual data entry remains
  • Assistance with the organisation of Press Trips and Customer Loyalty days including where needed, your presence at selected golf days helping run a seamless event

This role demands excellent attention to detail, organisation, prioritisation, and teamwork as well as strong communication skills. You will be directly involved, as much as possible, in all functions of the department.
