Legal Associate Placement

As a legal intern, you will report to General Counsel & Legal Director for SAP UK and Ireland (UKI), as well as Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and work closely with other members of UK and EMEA legal departments. We will train you to:

  • Assist with drafting and reviewing SAP consulting services documentation and aid the consulting services contracting process
  • Review, negotiate and approve documentation for SAP UK’s procurement & marketing department
  • Help the legal department enforce trademarks in accordance with company policy
  • Assist with the localisation of global legal documents
  • Review and negotiate non-standard NDA’s for the UK and the Nordics
  • Be the first point of contact for Novation and Amendment queries
  • Be the first point of contact for internal corporate queries
  • Deliver training sessions to other departments on legal and compliance topics

As part of your role you will also:

  • Update the legal department on developments in statute and case law that impacts the business
  • Review business processes to recommend ways of optimising them (examples could include, contract approval process efficiency measures)
  • This year we have two open roles; one working with the UKI and one working in EMEA. Please state which role you would prefer.

From this you will gain:

Ideal Candidate

Bright, articulate and motivated students who are currently on course for a 2:1 degree with the following key competencies:

  • Business, accounting ,IT experience / working knowledge would be an advantage but not essential
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (Especially Excel)
  • Time Management
  • Team player
  • High energy level
  • Effective communicator / good interpersonal skills
  • Inquisitive and not afraid to ask questions
  • Logical
  • Focused and organised
  • Ability to work to deadlines and within budget
