As one of Europe’s largest multidisciplinary research organisations, our work is focused on Inspiring Impact – to make a real-world difference to people’s lives and the environment. Our research seeks to understand the Universe from the largest astronomical scales to the tiniest constituents of matter, yet creates impact on a very tangible, human scale.
STFC support research, innovation and skills in particle physics, astronomy, nuclear physics and space science through UK universities and participation in major international collaborations. We design, build, operate and exploit world-leading, large scale facilities in the UK for the physical and life sciences.

Many sandwich placements can offer you the opportunity to develop your skills and gain vital experience. But not many can also offer you the opportunity to work on exciting research projects which are tackling global challenges – from climate change and sustainable energy, to security and healthcare.

What you’ll need
We’re looking to place students with a passion for science who are studying towards a degree in a relevant subject.
In 2017 we have opportunities within; Scientific Research, Engineering, computing, Finance and communications.
