Water, Ground and Environment - (Buildings and Infrastructure) Summer and Industrial Year Placements

Industrial Year Placements commence from May/ June 2017 onwards.
Summer placements commence May/ June 2017 for 12 weeks.

Who we’re looking for

Our practice accept applications from students who are studying a wide range of disciplines and are on track to achieve a 2.2 or above MEng/MSc degree (or equivalent) in disciplines as highlighted below. We will also consider applicants striving for a 2.1 or above BEng electrical and building services engineering disciplines

Exeter, Oxford & Bristol - Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering

All locations offer Summer Placements.  In addition Industrial Year Placements are also offered in London and Epsom.

What you’ll be doing:

Building services – working towards a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in building services, electrical engineering or mechanical engineering, you’ll develop your skills working on different building and infrastructure projects. Collaborating with a diverse range of people, you’ll carry out building services system inspections and heating ventilation and air conditioning design (HVAC). You’ll also prepare a variety of reports, contract documents and project designs, assessment calculations and drawings.

Engineering technology (structural and mechanical integrity) – working towards a Master’s degree in mechanical or civil engineering, you’ll get involved in a variety of fields from structural dynamics and seismic engineering to stress, thermal and fatigue analysis. Our engineering technology team specialises in advanced computer-based structural and dynamic analysis, we use finite element analysis software to predict the behaviour of civil, structural and mechanical hardware.

Structural engineering – Working towards a Master’s degree in civil or structural engineering, you’ll create innovative, high quality structural engineering designs on time and to budget. Working alongside our architects and building services engineers, you’ll help to deliver multidisciplinary design services for a variety of building projects.
