About Volvo Group & the Department

The retail sales area of commercial trucks and LCV sales is responsible for generating c60% of the truck and LCV order volumes through our franchised dealer network of wholly owned and private dealers. Here the typical order quantities are low and the volume of orders is high making the area dynamic, fast paced and interactive.

Trucks and LCVs are marketed through our dealer group with orders placed on our French manufacturing facilities. As such, prices and terms have to be negotiated for complex and technical products (vehicles). The area is staffed by a team of five remotely located individuals who are the main interface between our Renault Trucks brand and our dealer network.

Sales Support Coordinator Placement

We have an exciting opportunity within our department where the successful candidate will be able to contribute to the long term success of the business and make a real difference. Our network find it increasingly difficult to source the high calibre sales personnel required to successfully sell into a capital intensive and risk averse customer base.

This role, reporting directly to the Retail Sales Director will have a key deliverable of providing the insight and understanding of how our competitors and related industries source tomorrow’s sales professionals.

Responsibilities:

Working on various projects you will get to learn about different areas of the department which will give you a sound and broad understanding for your time after University.

Currently, the key projects are:

  • Working with internal and external stakeholders, research into providers of high value capital equipment
  • Create an understanding of employee development programmes
  • Provide research based recommendations to Renault Trucks

Other Duties:

In addition to the core project, this new role will also support the wider remit of the Renault Trucks Retail Sales Director and his team of Business Development Managers.
With a range of tasks to support team deliverables, the role will provide a broader sales and marketing exposure for the successful applicant.

General day to day activities would include:

  • The assistance to other members of the team as required, in particular with actions relating to the processing of pricing schemes and orders
  • The provision of various regular and ad-hoc sales reports
  • Creation of the same in our business warehouse data bank
  • Any other duties as assigned

Current degree requirements:

  • Studying for a Business Management, IT, Geography or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a first or high 2:1 on their chosen studies

Competencies, skills and knowledge required:

  • Excellent Microsoft office skills with particular proficiency in Excel.
  • Some degree of commercial awareness is essential as is an understanding of a B2B environment
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • A desire to be involved in a customer facing role
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Clean driving licence is essential
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
