About Volvo Group & the Department

Volvo Trucks Services and Customer Quality support uptime, customer productivity and efficient workshop services and consist of the following functions: Business office & Governance, Productivity & New Concepts, Uptime & AM Vehicle Requirements, Parts & Service Contracts and Customer Quality & Warranty.

This position is primarily working within the UK Uptime Centre which is part of the Uptime & Aftermarket Vehicle requirements function reporting directly in Volvo Trucks HQ. The position holder will report directly to the Uptime Solutions Director.

We have an exciting opportunity within our department where the successful candidate will be able to contribute to the Volvo Group aspiration of having leading customer satisfaction for all Group brands in their segments. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who will:

  • Assist in the European roll out project for a new Global communication application (AMCDI).
  • Conduct research into the current customer experience for the Volvo branded Roadside Assistance Services.
  • Deal directly with Customers as part of the coordination Team in the UK Uptime Centre.
  • The role may suit an individual wishing to use other European languages but this is not a requirement of the role.

Responsibilities:

Working on various projects you will get to learn about different areas of the department which will give you a sound and broad understanding for continuing your degree and for your time after University.

In essence, the key activities being:

  • Initially (3 months) to work within the Uptime Centre as part of the Roadside Assistance team co-ordinating Customer Assistance requests through the Volvo Truck and Renault Truck dealer networks. This is required to secure a sound understanding of the service which will be necessary to perform the additional key activities
  • To select a group of existing customers currently using the Volvo Roadside Assistance Service and over an extended time monitor directly with those customers the quality of service supplied.
  • To present a proposal to the Uptime Solutions Management team as to how the customer experience could be enhanced resulting from the study above.
  • To work as part of the European Roll out team for the AMDCI project in developing roll out strategies, training and onsite support.
  • To evaluate the success of the project following the roll out through defined project KPI’s.
  • Working as part of the AMDCI project team

Other Duties:

In addition to the core activities, this role will also support the wider remit of the Volvo Trucks, Uptime Solutions team, with a range of tasks to support team deliverables & providing a broader commercial and customer service experience for the successful applicant.

  • General assistance to other members of the Uptime Solutions team as required

Current degree requirements:

  • Studying for a Business Studies or related business degree.
  • 2 years completed – placement between 2nd & 3rd study years.
  • Academic grades on track for a first or high 2:1 on their chosen studies

  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Strong organisational skills
