Operations Industrial Placements

Are you an undergraduate student looking for an Industrial Placement for 2017/18? Are you looking for a placement that will offer a level of responsibility comparable to a full-time staff member and that will challenge you with a wide ranging variety of work and opportunity? If you are then keep reading.

JDE is looking for students for 12 month industrial placements at our Banbury Manufacturing site. Continuously improving our manufacturing capabilities and processes is a challenging and rewarding task. As an undergraduate with a background in Engineering you’ll be part of the team from day one and will work on real, live projects. You’ll be contributing to project work, meetings and finding practical solutions with full responsibility and accountability.
Industrial placement opportunities are available for:

  • Chemical Engineers
  • Mechanical Engineers
  • Continuous Improvement Engineers

Successful students will be based within the Engineering or Continuous Improvement teams and will be involved in plant optimisation, plant design and maintenance improvements as well as looking to optimise yield and energy through development projects. Requirements for our Industrial Placements:

  • Currently studying on a relevant degree or masters course or recently graduated
  • Naturally inquisitive, technical problem solver and passionate about technical excellence.
  • Open to acquiring new skills and able to demonstrate strong analytical, communication and presentation abilities.
  • Pro-active, highly motivated, ready to take on new responsibilities and build strong relationships.
  • Analytical skills to turn complex technical data into actionable recommendations.

Salary and Application Information

Our Industrial Placement students will receive a £16,000 basic salary with a £1,000 (Net) joining bonus. Benefits include 25 days holiday, plenty of great coffee and the chance to receive barista training!

A telephone interview will be conducted in early November followed by an assessment centre in the first two weeks of December. All placement offers will be made before Christmas 2016.
