Facilities Management Placement

Core Responsibilities:

Take an active role in the day to day activities of the department, such as:

• Handling Facilities Management helpdesk calls/emails and general office activities
• Liaising with colleagues regarding deliveries, visitors and contractors and dealing with ad hoc facilities requests
• Researching suitable services and products; evaluating quotations; preparing business case documentation for management review
• Working with the environmental management system (ISO 14001) and internal audits
• Co-ordinating energy management information and reporting in Excel and graphic formats
• Management of waste and recycling – records and removal
• Fortnightly site tour to monitor environmental and health and safety performance
• Carrying out site inductions and coordinating work at other sites in line with the Control of Contractors Procedure
• Working with and developing the Facilities Management and Health and Safety Databases
• Developing the department intranet pages
• Developing internal communications/ awareness campaigns and updating the site notice boards
• Coordinating the Intern Assessment Day

Projects: Specific project(s) will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate, taking into account educational background, skills and any relevant previous experience. You will be required to develop solutions that:

• Take into account the relevant legislation, trends and issues
• Identify opportunities and threats specific to our Business and prioritise accordingly
• Identify activities and targets that will deliver the Business value, as well as manage the risks
• Have the support and engagement of the management team
• Comply with the relevant Porsche AG Directives and Policies.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual who is willing to learn but also to be flexible. The successful candidate will have good communication, planning and prioritising skills with an ability to help improve procedures. Our Facilities Management Placement will give you the chance to make a real contribution to our organisation and gain invaluable work experience. Candidates should be undergraduates looking for a placement year in their 3rd year of study and ideally studying towards a Facilities/Environmental Management/ degree or a qualification in Occupational Health and Safety and have strong IT Skills and be confident in spoken and written English.
