IT Project Placement

Job Purpose:

To support the Group IT Project Manager and Team Members in projects to ensure a consistent level of project delivery within the IT department.

Core Responsibilities:

Individual Project Management

• Manage small IT projects autonomously as required within department
• Take responsibility for the execution of projects assigned by the Project Manager or Group IT Manager
• Proactively identify and propose opportunities to improve processes and systems
• Assist team members with execution of local and global projects
• Support the Group IT Project Manager on the development and ongoing maintenance of a departmental resource plan to show utilisation and tracking of resource.

Project Portfolio Management and Reporting

• Work with the Group IT Project Manager to deliver comprehensive project reporting to all required audiences
• Work with the internal team to ensure all weekly project updates are done and any issues highlighted to the Group IT Project Manager
• Maintain the departmental programme reporting system (Programmexpress) ensuring consistency across all projects
• Work with the Group IT Project Manager on the development and ongoing maintenance of a departmental resource plan to show utilisation and tracking of resource.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive individual who is able to learn quickly. The successful candidate will have a ‘can do’ attitude, a willingness to get involved in a range of tasks and good communication skills. Our IT Project Placement will give you the opportunity to make a real contribution to our organisation and gain invaluable work experience.

Candidates should be undergraduates looking for a placement year in their 3rd year of study and ideally studying towards an IT or Business related degree. Preferably have at least one year’s IT specific business or academic experience, with a good knowledge and experience of MS-Windows and MS-Office Project and be confident in spoken and written English.

We offer a competitive salary, 25 days holiday, daily food allowance and a bus pass in the Reading area.
