Why join T.K. Maxx and HomeSense?

Simple.

For the adventure.

Ultimately, you’re not only looking to start your career. You’re looking for an unforgettable journey. You want to be part of something huge. Something global. The 2017 Merchandising and Buying European Placement Programme with TJX Europe is where it can all begin.

You’ll plug directly into the thrill of life with TJX Companies, Inc. - a global retail phenomenon with over 3,300 stores in nine countries and over 198,000 associates. We have an annual turnover of over $29.1 billion, globally (FY15) and we are excited about our opportunities for the future and confident in our ability to grow to be a $40 billion company (although we won’t stop there!).

We delight, surprise and excite our customers with big name brands at up to 60% off recommended retail prices. Buying from thousands of different designers every day, we never know what we’re going to find. It all makes for an incredibly fast-paced business that’s every bit as exciting for us as it is for our customers.

Merchandising & Buying Placement Programme

Please note, we have now filled the majority 2017 Merchandising & Buying Graduate Programme spaces. We are now only reviewing applications from candidates who are fluent in the following languages: Danish, German, French, Italian or Spanish, as well as English.

Keep an eye out for our 2018 Merchandising & Buying Graduate Programme that will open in September 2017.

This is no ordinary retail placement programme. The talented men and women in our Merchandising and Buying teams hold the keys to the success of our unique off-price concept. Working alongside them, you’ll discover how we source, plan and buy every day of the year, based not on a fixed plan but on the ever-changing market. It’s about thinking flexibly, being creative and making great deals.

Your one-year adventure starts with a comprehensive induction, combining classroom learning with store visits, team meetings and workshops. With the support of your mentor and buddy, you’ll start to develop the people skills and technical know-how to make decisions about inventory. Then it’s time to put it into practice, as you gain experience in a range of roles with real responsibilities. You’ll start in Merchandising, analysing sales patterns, anticipating product trends and learning to spot opportunities. As you hone your skills, you’ll choose whether to pursue more opportunities in Merchandising including E-Commerce and Store Trading or potentially move into Buying. Either way, you’ll be en route to an exciting career.

You don’t need to have a particular degree, although strong numerical and analytical skills are crucial. What we’re looking for is the ability to think creatively and strategically. You’ll thrive in a constantly changing working environment where decisions happen quickly and everyone works together to make the incredible possible. Because our business crosses borders, we’re keen to hear from people who have European language skills or experience of living and working in Europe - but these things are not essential.

Apply for our July or September 2017 intakes soon so you don’t miss out!
