The 3-day insight programme that I attended at DLA Piper was certainly very enjoyable, not only because of all the friendly representatives I met and the events that we participated in, but also because of all the different students I met from around the country. I would say that this programme organised by DLA has been the best one I've been on so far.
I enjoyed the insight a lot. The company were very generous and we had lots of great speakers from the firm - including managing partners and trainees. In terms of insights into firm culture, I found this a bit harder to glean, but we had 2 panel talks from trainees on the final day which was probably the most useful in getting an insight into the atmosphere.
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight programme. There was a range of activities in the schedule for the 3 day period which included a mixture of talks from various employees and also group tasks. Most of these activities were good however there were some I found more useful than others. I must mention that the grad recruitment team were incredibly approachable which overall increased my enjoyment in the programme.
This programme was highly informative as well as enjoyable. Being able to hear from so many different people working in the firm gave a well-rounded insight to what being a part of DLA Piper would be like. The programme was very well structured, and I feel as though I got a lot of out my time here.
The 2019 Insight programme provided by DLA Piper was very enjoyable and intellectually stimulating. The talks and workshops that the programme comprised of were highly informative, and delivered in a coherent and professional manner. I thoroughly enjoyed networking and socializing with partners and associates of the firm, as well as other participants, in a pleasant environment.
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight scheme. It was a great few days at the London office, it was fun and interesting throughout. We met the most senior lawyers for the firm and everyone who spoke to us were enthusiastic and supportive. Definitely worth applying for if you are interested in gaining a real insight into DLA Piper and commercial law. As much as it was extremely worthwhile, the insight programme did have a large cohort of 80. It also did not enable students to shadow solicitors. The programme consisted of presentations and interactive exercises. Nevertheless, it was throughly enjoyable as I met loads of new friends and learnt a lot!
The Insight Programme was very engaging, filled with workshops that allowed students to collaborate together to think about legal issues and gain an insight into the works and operations of a commercial law firm. There were insightful talks given by partners in various offices as well as current or future trainees, who offered useful advice.
I really enjoyed the DLA Piper Insight Programme. The Grad Recruitment Team took the time to meet us before the programme at the hotel and the range of programmes increased my understanding of the workings of an international law firm and DLA Piper's commitment to Pro Bono, Diversity and Inclusion and its international expertise. Each event was really informative and engaging and the speakers made their workshops interactive and fun! The friends I made during the Programme is a great bonus!
I very much enjoyed this insight programme. It was rather long (3 days) and sometimes the talks went on for a bit too long but it was genuinely enjoyable for a few reasons. The food we received was very good, everything was paid for and we were able to claim back everything. the speakers and activities were really interesting and enjoyable and i met so many wonderful people.
The 3 day insight programme could not have been more valuable to first year students, especially as attending open day etc is all very new. Extensive detail was given by partners, trainees and the graduate team about the firm and general application process. We were made to feel at home instantly, and each day was thoroughly enjoyable!
My first work experience with a law firm beyond attending open days. It gave a really good opportunity to understand the culture and workings of the firm and why its employees have chosen to work there. I was very welcomed by all staff members I spoke to, from reception to security team.
The programme offered such a wide range of information, not only on the DLA Piper itself, but application advice, and interactive activities to help develop our legal skills. I felt very well looked after throughout the whole programme and the relaxed and friendly atmosphere made me feel extremely at ease
I really enjoyed the programme overall. It was a fantastic experience to immerse myself into the firm’s culture and work and discover a lot about DLA Piper that I didn’t know before. There were opportunities to ‘have fun’ in terms of meeting and socialising with other students and employees during networking drinks and meals out.
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight programme as the opportunity to engage with such inspirational senior members of the firm was extremely helpful. Not only this, but the grad recruitment team and the fellow students were very kind. I felt that everyone was truly welcoming; this increased my enjoyment of the programme.
I really enjoyed the DLA Piper Spring Insight Programme. It was very informative and enjoyable and I gained an invaluable insight into the firm, its culture and its people. Over the three days in the London office, we listened to talks from some of the firm’s key people and took part in engaging tasks and workshops.
