It was very invigorating experience, lots of networking and lots of learning which set me in very good stead for my career. The food at all the events were fab and I loved meeting the other interns which no doubt made it easier when I returned back to my home office.
The insight was great; the internship was a comprehensive, 3 week induction to life at DLA Piper. There was a whole week of introductory / professional development sessions, followed by two weeks in two different departments. The scheme also paired us with a trainee buddy, which gave a useful point of contact.
I really loved the summer internship with DLA Piper. From day one I felt welcomed into the firm and it was definately very hands on as I was able to sit in on client calls and get involved in drafting documents. The graduate recruitment team were really supportive and the whole scheme was extremely well run.
I enjoyed the vacation scheme at DLA Piper more than any other work experience I have completed. This is mainly because the 3 weeks were very busy. We had scheduled activities at least once, but usually more per day so I never felt as if I was sitting around with nothing to do. It also meant we got to know the other people on the scheme quite well. It was extremely well organised.
I really enjoyed the insight scheme. It was really well organised and there was a good range of activities from work shadowing to talks to dinners. There was a good chance to meet lots of people from the firm and experience working life at the firm. I really enjoyed the catering too!
I thoroughly enjoyed the DLA Piper 2019 UK Insight Programme. I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived at the firm and this feeling continued throughout the scheme. The talks, workshops and social activities were all very useful, and none of the participants were ever sat 'twiddling their thumbs' thanks to the action-packed schedule.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time on the internship. The programme was meticulously organised and interns were kept informed of updates to the programme at all times. Everyone at the firm, both during the London induction and whilst on location in Manchester, went out of their way to make sure the interns felt comfortable. Overall it was an excellent experience.
Amazingly well planned vacation scheme with really insightful presentations and events. Everyone in both the London and Birmingham office made an effort to make us all feel welcome and we really got to get a good idea of what each department entailed. It was great to see the social side of being a solicitor as well as the work side.
The insight into the firm was excellent. The programme was able to get a good balance between the firm's values and future as well as how the firm actually 'does' the law. The first week's introduction had extremely insightful presentations about the firm as a whole; and then the two weeks which followed in departments gave an invaluable insight into that practice area.
Incredibly enjoyable. The entire programme put me outside my comfort zone, and helped me to improve upon and develop myself as a person and as a lawyer. Dominique and her team put together a varied and well thought out programme that allowed us to learn so much about the firm, both in regard the culture and the work being undertaken.
Very much so. The scheme was well organised and a lot of effort was put into ensuring that all the interns had the opportunity to spend time with and get to know each other. There were also a number of social events put on for us throughout the internship period.
The 3 week vacation scheme was well-balanced in terms of exposure and time spent in the practice areas and professional skills development. We had a one week induction with all intern across the different regional offices in London which was really useful in getting to know everyone on the scheme. I really enjoyed myself and got to meet some of the nicest people at the scheme.
The placement was very much enjoyable, it was organised meticulously by Dom and her team. The first week in london was an excellent introduction to the firm with speeches by CEO's and heads of groups which were motivational. They covered the cost of all our food and hotel which avoids us worrying about how we will finance our costs especially for students.
