Under the circumstances of the internship having to be online, I think DLA really put the effort in to make sure the experience was as enjoyable as possible. They hosted a range of talks which gave an in depth feel of DLA as a whole and gave us the opportunity to connect with a range of other employees which was really enjoyable.
This insight was incredible for helping me to decide whether or not I wanted to pursue commercial law as a career. All the staff were friendly and it was lovely to see such a wide variety of students on the programme too. I left with connections and friends for life, and I've seen been selected to go on the Summer Internship with them too so I would strongly recommend the insight.
I thoroughly enjoyed the internship at DLA Piper, it was everything I'd hoped for and more. There is clearly so much time and effort put into creating the programme as you are given the opportunity to participate in so many worthwhile activities that allow you to showcase and improve upon your own skillset in a professional working environment.
The placement was really enjoyable for the whole three weeks! We went to London which was really fun as we had constant activities planned. Following this, we then went to the offices which we would be based at when training, which was very insightful too!
The Summer Internship at DLA Piper offered me the best three weeks of my professional life so far. I learnt a tremendous amount about the company's working culture, its people and its current business strategy. My favourite part was being challenged to perform at my very best every single day, combined with constant feedback the recruitment team gave me. Truly everyone was helpful at DLA Piper.
The scheme is thoughtfully organised. The first week is used as an induction to the firms' values and culture. As I applied to the Manchester office, I appreciated the first week being held in London (expenses paid for): it allowed all the interns to meet one another.
It was very invigorating experience, lots of networking and lots of learning which set me in very good stead for my career. The food at all the events were fab and I loved meeting the other interns which no doubt made it easier when I returned back to my home office.
The insight was great; the internship was a comprehensive, 3 week induction to life at DLA Piper. There was a whole week of introductory / professional development sessions, followed by two weeks in two different departments. The scheme also paired us with a trainee buddy, which gave a useful point of contact.
I really loved the summer internship with DLA Piper. From day one I felt welcomed into the firm and it was definately very hands on as I was able to sit in on client calls and get involved in drafting documents. The graduate recruitment team were really supportive and the whole scheme was extremely well run.
I enjoyed the vacation scheme at DLA Piper more than any other work experience I have completed. This is mainly because the 3 weeks were very busy. We had scheduled activities at least once, but usually more per day so I never felt as if I was sitting around with nothing to do. It also meant we got to know the other people on the scheme quite well. It was extremely well organised.
I really enjoyed the insight scheme. It was really well organised and there was a good range of activities from work shadowing to talks to dinners. There was a good chance to meet lots of people from the firm and experience working life at the firm. I really enjoyed the catering too!
I thoroughly enjoyed the DLA Piper 2019 UK Insight Programme. I was made to feel welcome from the moment I arrived at the firm and this feeling continued throughout the scheme. The talks, workshops and social activities were all very useful, and none of the participants were ever sat 'twiddling their thumbs' thanks to the action-packed schedule.
